Santo Untreated Cilantro Seeds

This widely favored variety is valued for its uniformity, high productivity, and slow bolting, thereby extending the period during which its fresh and flavorful leaves can be harvested. The leaves possess a classic, pungent flavor that is often polarizing—either loved or disliked.

Seeds should be sown directly outdoors during early spring or autumn. Cilantro prefers cooler temperatures and does not transplant effectively. If allowed to flower, seeds can be harvested and used as the warm, citrusy spice known as coriander, enabling two harvests from a single plant. The plant typically reaches a height of 18-24 inches and matures within 50-60 days.

This plant is suitable for cultivation in USDA Zones 2-11. Seeds should be planted 1/4 inch deep, with spacing or thinning maintained at 6-8 inches apart.

It requires full sun to partial shade conditions. To ensure a continuous supply, sow new seeds every 2-3 weeks. Note that the flavor of the leaves changes once the plant begins to flower.
